Have Fun with your Active DesktopTM with IE 4If you have downloaded Internet Explorer 4 from Microsoft ® and you installed the active desktop well then your in for somewhat of a treat. Microsoft’s background which displays the text Active desktop is an HTML file … which means that you can edit it to display anything that you can display on a web page in IE. The background file in in your windows directory under web \ wallpaper. To view it Just open the file wallpapr.htm in your web browser (it will not display correctly in navigator). Now veiw the document source. Click Here to look at the source code of the wallpapr.htm file. That’s it, it’s just a table with a couple of style sheets and it makes for some easy modification. I just did a simple test on it to add my name. I copied one of the style sheets and modified it to display my name with this source. Click Here to veiw my source modification Experiment with this file… It will provide you with a fast way to customize your desktop even more then you ever could by making images.
